About Me

I am a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh. I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. My research focuses on evolutionary computation, multimodal optimization (niching), swarm intelligence, and math-heuristic approaches for complex optimization problems. Over the years, I have authored or co-authored approximately 17 peer-reviewed journal articles and 6 conference papers, contributing both theoretical and applied advancements to these areas. At DUET, I am actively engaged in teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. I am currently supervising three M.Sc. Engineering students and three students have already successfully completed their M.Sc. under my principal supervision. Currently, I am supervising one Ph.D. student. I enjoy mentoring students and supporting them as they grow into independent researchers. Through my work, I strive to advance optimization research and strengthen DUET’s capacity in computational intelligence, algorithm development, and applied problem solving.
